Know more about what we do!

Sweet Nothings is not just a bakery, it is an experience. It is committed to offering not only the most premium quality products but also the best service. Each of its products is unique in terms of the ingredients, technique and flavour.

Our Story

The journey started with baking for family and then friends. After finishing the formal training of bakery and patisserie from IBCA, Bangalore, I started my career as a fondant artist. Decorating inspiration came from all arenas and I kept honing my craft. A fondant cake not only has more room for creative customization for clients, but with exquisite details it silently tells a story.

However, on deciding to set my base in Lucknow, I started experimenting a fusion of Indian and western desserts such as Mithaai cheesecake, Spiced Pineapple Cheesecake, and a lot of other exclusive combinations. This was received well. Soon our Thandai Chocolates became our most sought-after product during Holi. After having built a devoted clientele, it was time for ‘Sweet Nothing Bakers’ to expand but I wanted to go the traditional route in baking. I wanted to revive the age-old wholesome recipes and bring back the traditional techniques. Finally, I got my hands on a ‘Bhatti’ (traditional woodfire oven) and I knew I had hit the jackpot. I started baking biscuits and mind you, not cookies!  I did simple traditional tea cakes and brought back the nice smoky flavour in the baked goods. My Diwali hampers were a huge hit.

During the winter season, due to the easy availability of fruits at reasonable prices, I experimented, tried, and tested my grandmother’s recipes of jams and squashes. What hit home with my customer was the taste of nostalgia – Old-world recipes like guava jelly, gooseberry jams, lemon squashes, etc. Apart from that, we worked a lot on fruit and vegetable preserves.

What delights me immensely is the acknowledgement and appreciation I have earned in a short span of three years. ‘Sweet Nothing Bakers’ was  awarded by the honourable governor Shri Ram Naik at the Mango Festival, won the third prize for the best stall at the India Food Expo organized by IIA, and for three consecutive years, we have been winning the shield at Raj Bhawan for food preservation.
